  • Air:

    • eliminate chemicals (toxics and anything containing the words parfum or fragrance in the ingredients),

    • maintain healthy indoor air quality (regularly cycle fresh air at least 2x day, if local AQI above 50, utilize activated carbon MERV13 air filter, maintain humidity between 30-55%), and

    • use only natural materials (clothes, furniture, home, etc.).

  • Water:

    • drink and use clean water (drink mountain spring water where possible, filter tap water with non-plastic filter, and filter shower water to prevent inhalation and dermal exposure from disinfection byproducts),

    • eliminate the use of plastic in kitchen and throughout home, and

    • energize drinking water

  • Land:

    • eliminate landscape chemical use to create healthy soils and access for barefoot activities,

    • maximize native and food producing vegetation around home for fresh air, food, and medicine, and

    • shape land to infiltrate and retain water for beneficial uses.

  • Energy:

    • utilize passive solar design strategies (maximize solar light, plan for sunlight to give heat in summer and locate vegetation/shade structures to protect from the sun in summer to cool),

    • minimize the use of artificial lighting and use low/no blue light where possible, and

    • minimize braking, accelerating, and fast turns to reduce energy consumption and tire wear.

  • Wellness:

    • use cold water for showers and baths,

    • barefoot walking on healthy natural surfaces like forest paths or sandy beaches,

    • slowly increase skin and eye exposure to Sun (gaze at least 15 degrees away from directly looking at the sunrise and sunset without glasses or contacts gradually increasing time as desired and is comfortable without squinting  up to an hour after sunrise and an hour before sunset, then eliminate barriers to the sun (sunscreen, glasses, contacts, hat, impermeable clothes) and spend more time in the sun.
